Santa Maria Visit

Room 4 Santa Maria Rest home Visit 21st August 2013 All things going well, Room 4 have their turn to visit Santa Maria on Birdwood Avenue next Wednesday. A number of things have to happen if we are to go: • Great weather for walking • Enough adult helpers • No health issues at Santa Maria By 8.30am on Wednesday (21st August) I should know if we are going. We will take our poetry books to read and some songs to sing and we will return for morning tea at approximately 11am. Please let me know if you can help- we plan to leave school at 10am. Thank you, Amber Donovan

Herman the German Friendship Cake

Herman the German Friendship Cake We’ve been feeding and taking care of ‘Herman’ this week and so here is the recipe for the friendship cake we are planning to make and bake next week. It is likely we will have some ‘base’ to share with you so do send a clean container if you’d like to have a go making a friendship cake too! We are planning to bake on Monday or Tuesday. If your child does not eat egg- let me know if there is an ‘egg replacement’ we could use. Amber Donovan

Whanau Contact List

Hello...I am requesting the return of any up-dated contact details for all the Room 4 children. At the end of Term 2 I sent home the contact list as it was, with a few names missing. If you have had any changes to contact numbers or address changes do let me know on that sheet and once this is done a new list can be sent out. Thanks! Wheel Days start next week: our days are Monday and Wednesday. Students are invited to ride their scooters, skateboards or roller-blades/skates during the lunch hour. Safety gear must be worn at all times and the 'riders' will be actively supervised by staff. Lunch supervision I am responsible for supervising children in Room 4 while they eat their lunch at their tables. I am extremely impressed by the lunches- they are healthy and varied and I know the close supervision is helping to ensure lunches are actually being eaten!

Home Learning and Keeping Ourselves Safe

Kia ora Whanau, Just to let you know that the Year 2 Home Learning format has not yet been drafted by Ms Macbeth and I, so in the meantime the KOS booklet and the usual Home Learning work will be your child's Home Learning expectations until approximately the end of week 4. Kind regards, Amber Donovan
